The 400 members of the San Francisco Social Register set would not have all fit in the late (and still, lamented) Trader Vic’s. Yet for decades (1951-1994), the former parking (aka Trader Vic) transformed into a teak-and-thatch-walled high temple of tiki was one of the most coveted tables in town.
