Astrology for The New Age
In changing signs this month, Jupiter moves from his dignity (Sagittarius) to his “fall” placement (Capricorn). We can see quite readily why astrologers have for a long time felt that Jupiter encounters some challenges when it is in the 10th sign. After all, that sign’s ruler Saturn has to do with limits that may frustrate Jupiter’s expansionary tendencies, as well as his enthusiasm. We might all wonder why Jupiter must put up with this kind of thing in a sign ruled by a father he long ago overthrew, or so the myths tell us.
Saturn and Capricorn
So how does Saturn relate to Capricorn? We should note that Capricorn, as a sign and not a planet, relates not to actions or capacities but instead relates to qualities. Capricorn imparts those qualities to planets that either reside there natally, or move through it in transit, asking those planets to act with rectitude and discipline, and one often finds that people with planets there tend to express those planets first and most readily through responsibility and work. Like Saturn, Capricorn has a great love of form, so planets there generally work carefully with form, bringing forth creations of a particularly form-full type.
