This month’s Starscope focuses on the problem of stress, due to a pair of planetary transits that can cause you extra tension and frustration in April. Action-oriented Mars and cautious Saturn are both in Aquarius. When these two planets are in an alignment, it’s as if you are trying to drive a car at full speed with the emergency brake on. For some, this dual transit can bring agitation, an emotional crisis, or a discouraging dilemma.

Certain Sun signs seem more sensitive to stress than others. Gemini, Cancer, Virgo, Libra, and Pisces, for example, can suffer burnout more quickly than some of the other signs. This is a generalization, of course, as how an individual might endure stress depends on the entire horoscope. But whatever the sign involved, prolonged periods of stress can cause high blood pressure, or throw a person’s hormonal balance out of kilter, among other things. Other problems related to stress include stomach ulcers, migraine and tension headaches, insomnia, depression, miscarriages, and chronic fatigue. In the meantime, despite the stressful nature of Mars and Saturn, your attention is likely to be on a variety of needs and issues that may provide some balance. Mercury helps here, as its visits to three signs in April (Pisces, Aries, and Taurus) can help keep your mental outlook from obsessively spending too much time on one set of issues to the exclusion of others.
