▸ANDREA CHESMAN: Winter squash and pumpkins are easy to save in a cool, dry space without any special techniques. Let them cure in the sun or a warm room for 2 weeks, and then wipe them down with a mild bleach solution (1/2 cup bleach to 1 gallon cold water). Store them in a single layer, not touching each other, at 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit for up to three months.
