‘We needed to do health differently. Tasmanians were getting sicker, not healthier’

Just over three years ago, Lucy Byrne and her sister, Penny Terry, made a decision to tackle Tasmania’s rapidly declining health. Knowing that the key to good health is prevention, they established Healthy Tasmania Pty Ltd, a company whose innovative and creative approach is transforming the way Tasmanians view health.

“We knew we needed to do health differently. Tasmanians were getting sicker, not heathier and the money being funnelled into acute health care would never be able to fix the problem,” explains Lucy.

Their approach sees the sisters use their vastly different skill-sets to help others navigate the complex systems behind preventative health with the aim of improving, not only individual health, but social and economic health as well.
