BENJAMIN WRITES: I’m from Port Elizabeth and I took this photo in nearby Addo Elephant National Park. The park was experiencing a drought, and the animals were usually found around the waterholes.

While I was watching some elephants drinking, this boisterous calf started chasing all the other small game away. The calf looked very proud of its achievement, much to the displeasure of the warthog!

The warthog eventually got a drink when the baby elephant’s attention moved elsewhere.

TOAST SAYS: I love a picture that tells a story. Add a squirt of humour, sharp focus, good light and a cute baby elephant, and you have all the ingredients for Photo of the Month. Well done Benjamin, this photo ticks all the boxes!

The playfulness of this ellie is clear to see; a grin plastered across its face as it mock-charges the hapless warthog, which looks rather bleak about the situation.
