My first off-road experiences were very stressful. I didn’t grow up around bakkies or learn how to drive in one, so I was thrown into the deep end when I was hired as a travel writer at go! Drive & Camp a few years ago. During my first week, my editor handed me the keys to a brand-new Volkswagen Amarok and told me to familiarise myself with it.
