TRUE BLUE TROUT

The rivers west of the Blue Mountains lie within a couple of hours drive of the heart of the Sydney CBD, and yet danger, solitude and most importantly trout can be found between their banks.

Slowly making your way up one of the region’s rivers or small tributaries idly flicking flies or small lures in search of trout is great way to while away the hours, especially if the seas are up or there is a Nor’easter howling. Countless hours can be spent poring over the relevant topographical maps in conjunction with Google Earth to try to gain access to the more remote stretches of these rivers and streams.
