The dangers of salt poisoning in livestock

Salt poisoning usually occurs when livestock have not had access to water for more than 24 hours. Without water, the salt concentration in the blood increases rapidly due to dehydration.
Salt poisoning can also occur if livestock drink excessively salty water. As far as possible, prevent your animals from drinking the following:
