THERE AREN’T MANY good things about 1997’s Batman & Robin, but there’s at least one. A single throwaway line, a cheeky little in-joke. When George Clooney’s Batman becomes exasperated by Robin and Batgirl, he grumbles: “This is why Superman works alone”.
