WWOOF celebrates 37 years

LIONEL Pollard formed WWOOF (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) in Australia in 1981. In the beginning WWOOF was a very down-to-earth movement, organic farming was in its infancy, many hosts were hippies, and WWOOFers (volunteers) helped these fledgling organic farms to get on their feet and become commercial success stories.
