A There are myriad reasons hens will go broody. Particular breeds, for example Chinese silkies, are renowned for going broody at the drop of a hat over and over again. Sometimes it can either be the heat or a cold snap. Bullying or illness can also trigger a hen to go a hide out in the nesting box.
You can try removing the hens on a daily basis and lock them out of the nesting
