The discovery of a “new” shortwave station in the Central African Republic was a hot topic in mid May, even though the station had first signed on back in early February 2007 — a good dozen years ago — and worked with HCJB, Trans World Radio, and UNICEF to help get organized. “Water for Good,” based in Winona Lake, Indiana, is a non-profit that works to bring fresh water to the H20-starved population of the Central African Republic, which hasn’t had a shortwave outlet for several years.
