IN A DOUBLE STROKE OF IRONY, one of the fiercest critics of Team Sky has become one of its greatest supporters after a tribunal let Sky’s star rider off the hook five days out from the world's biggest bike race.
Sort of, anyway.
We all know Chris Froome was exonerated by the UCI on 2 July this year; cleared for his ‘presumed’ Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for salbutamol - where twice the permitted levels were found in a urine test conducted following Stage 18 of the 2017 Vuelta a España, which he of course won.
