ANDERMATT

It’s hard not to get excited about the prospect of riding in the Canton of Uri, Switzerland, home to the country’s most iconic mountain passes.

I am staying in Andermatt, located at 1,437 metres above sea level. It was made accessible by stagecoaches in the early 1800s, making it a popular spa town as the last resort before St Gotthard Pass. They still run a horse-drawn coach over the pass to this day.
