IT’S 5.55AM ON A TUESDAY. PERTH’S fastest riders are gathering under the Narrows Bridge for the bi-weekly smash fest – the “Narrows” group ride. In the Professional offseason it’s not irregular to have pro-riders like Jai Hindley, Luke Durbridge, Michael Storer or Ben O’Connor turn up and take their turns on the front. The beauty of this ride is that it isn’t about those big names. It’s a chance for local riders to get together and belt around the Swan River before work or uni starts. Narrows has been around for a fair while now, initially called “Barrack Street” (It used to start at the Bell Tower which is on the Barrack Street Jetty) However, as the construction of Elizabeth Quay came along the ride start was changed to the underside Narrows
