OW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STUDIO? It’s vast with beautiful vintage character and gorgeous afternoon light. Rainbows refract from the louvres onto the flowers and a giant operating theatre light spotlights our creations. WHAT APPEALED is a great resource in the design process. Plus my little puppy, Gogo, who sits beside me all day. WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT YOUR SPACE? HOW DOES IT REFLECT YOUR WORK? It is generous for a florist. Being unrestricted by height and space allows us to create without boundaries. DESCRIBE YOUR VIEW? We are hidden in a side street in Woolloomooloo moments from the Coke sign. If you look up, you see the city skyline towering above. DESCRIBE A TYPICAL DAY? I wake at 3:30am and drive to Flemington Markets to snap up the best flowers. Once the van is full, I head back to the studio where we unpack and make our corporate and restaurant flowers for the morning deadlines. Then, we move onto orders and events, which in the warmer months can be overwhelming. They are long days but we have a strong team dynamic and it doesn’t feel like work. DO YOU USE YOUR STUDIO TO ENTERTAIN CLIENTS? I have grand renovation plans and when they are complete we will be able to entertain clients and hold small private events. WHAT IS A DREAM DESK/WORKSPACE OBJECT YOU WOULD BUY NOW? Sasaoka ikebana scissors. WHAT PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO? Summertime is always full of spectacular events for us. We have a special job at Town Hall this year that I’m hoping will take our image to another level. I’d love to say more but that would spoil it – stay tuned.
