NEW ADDITIONS TO the 2019 Bassmaster Elite Series could unveil some new tricks and tactics worth watching as the season unfolds.

Three to watch are Canadians Jeff Gustafson and brothers Cory and Chris Johnston, especially when the Elites visit smallmouth or clear-water lakes.

Remember when Japanese anglers added some nifty finesse tactics when they first joined the Elites?

We might see more modifications to bass fishing schemes from the Canadians joining the circuit this year.

That doesn’t mean the Johnstons and Gustafson are strictly finesse anglers who are at their best fishing deep, clear, Canadian-like waters. They’re far more versatile but may offer new perspectives on how to catch smallmouth and largemouth bass before this season ends.
