The growing popularity of the United Soccer League (USL) hasn’t gone unnoticed in baseball, as more than a handful of current baseball ownership groups have become USL owners, enjoying the success that comes from the synergies of two community-first sports franchises, along with the differences that keep both organizations sharp.

“For me, it was both a love of soccer and that experience being so rewarding,” says Jeff Logan, part of the ownership groups for both the Birmingham Barons baseball team and the USL Championship’s Birmingham Legion FC. “I want to do this as part of giving back to the community.”
