Nvidia is retrofitting ray tracing into more classic games
THE COMPANY HAS TASKED LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS WITH MAKING FANCY REFURBISHMENTS.
Nvidia is keen to show off what its RTX cards can do, with the company tasking an internal studio with refurbishing classic PC games with ray tracing support. It has already released a Quake 2 update, and a Minecraft update is forthcoming, but a recent job listing suggests that more are coming, with speculation rife that the likes of Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 might be among them.
