The AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT launch scandal

If you’ve already flicked through this issue, you may have seen our Radeon RX 5600 XT review on page 34. It’s a good card, and it’s very competitive in its price range. You might also have heard how AMD released a BIOS update just prior to the launch in order to boost performance. From a reviewer’s point, I wasn’t thrilled with the late change but my concerns were based around how such changes appear to the public. Is it AMD being shady? Or is it nothing more than a pre-launch change akin to a motherboard-maker releasing an updated pre-launch BIOS? In my opinion, it’s the latter.
