From Genesis to Revelation

The process of developing a yacht can be easy for the customer to overlook – the sometimes tortuous procedure that goes into moving the initial development of a yacht through to the final production of the gleaming boat lying alongside the pontoon at a boat show. So what lies behind this process? Well, obviously the development is a little different for every company, but here is how one of our homegrown companies does it. Discovery Yachts has expanded aggressively over the past couple of years since it was taken over by a consortium led by Sean Langdon (above). Key to that expansion was the acquisition of the Southerly Yachts brand – an existing range of yachts that massively increased the number of boats that Discovery has available.

Now, just to top things off, the company has decided to create the Revelation, an entirely new line of yachts. If this all sounds like an awful lot of upheaval, that’s probably because it is. But the question we want to know
