Holding out a handful of hay, I squealed in delight as an adorable creature yanked it from my grip, gobbling it up with a content look on his face.

‘He’s so cute!’ I giggled to my husband Matt, 28.

It was July 2017, and Matt and I had decided to enjoy a day out at a nearby alpaca farm in Sussex.

I’d always loved these quirky creatures – originally from South America, their whacky hairstyles and serene facial expressions were priceless.
