Are boilers here to stay?
For hundreds of years we’ve been powering our homes with fossil fuels like natural gas, oil and coal. While these fuels have enabled us to develop new technologies and improve efficiency levels, they cannot last forever.
In 2008, the UK government passed the Climate Change Act, to ensure that the UK’s carbon emissions will be at least 80% lower than the 1990 baseline by 2050. With it an independent advisory body, Committee on Climate Change (CCC), was established to advise the government.
The CCC carries out an assessment every year to track whether the UK is going to meet its carbon reduction targets. The first two carbon budgets (2008 – 2012 and 2013 – 2017) were met and we are also on target to outperform the third budget (2018 – 2022). It is
