Quantum bits
If a qubit can be kept isolated from its environment it can go into superposition, a state of both 1 and 0 at the same time. This is what supplies the advantage over classical digital computers. This can be used to calculate across several qubits, but as soon as the qubit is read, the superposition collapses to an answer of either 1 or 0 again.
