When we’re talking milestones, it can’t quite match the 186-year history of Martin’s fabled acoustics – but the five-decade anniversary of the US luthier’s string operation is not to be sniffed at. “Next year, we’ll celebrate 50 years of string making,” says the division’s director of Product Management, Mike Zehner. “And I think we’d be so bold to say we know a thing or two about tone.”
