NO MAN’S SKY BEYOND

After 200 hours spent playing No Man’s Sky over the past three years, I’ve still got roughly, ooh, let’s see… 18 quintillion planets left to explore. Each of those procedurally generated worlds is dotted with exotic plants, valuable minerals, alien structures and artefacts, and oddball lifeforms. But I’ve got more important business to attend to right now, like cooking stew to impress a food critic on an interdimensional space station.

, the latest (and biggest) free expansion to adds a lot to Hello Games’ space sandbox. Virtual reality. 32-person multiplayer. Expanded base-building and automated resource gathering. Creature taming, farming, and riding. It also adds cooking, an activity I love (in games, not in real life), and most importantly a snooty alien NPC named Cronus who will eat anything I bring him and tell me how much he hates it.
