How can I make sure that the software and apps on my Mac are always kept up to date? Brian Thomas
1 Open preferences
If you are running Catalina, open System Preferences and then click on the ‘Software Update’ pane. This will bring up a window displaying your Mac’s current operating system.
2 Click option
You will see the option to ‘Automatically keep my Mac up to date’ – tick this (you will need to enter your administrator password) and then click on the ‘Advanced’ button next to it.
3 Choose options
You can then check or uncheck the options to check for and download updates for your system software as well as any apps that you have installed from the Mac App Store.
