Were you always someone who went into a new season with optimism?
You don’t know me, mate. My glass is always half-full – always has been and always has to be. I was brought up like that; I’m high on that; I can act like I’ve had a drink even if I haven’t. I like people, and football is all about people and why you support a football club. Some are optimistic and some are pessimistic, but that’s what makes this sport so great.
Are you enjoying being away from all of the pressures of managing a club?
At the moment, I’m experiencing different things. I’m learning about how television and radio programmes are made, although I’m still talking about something I’ve given my whole heart, body and soul to, for all my life. I’m
