INTERVIEW ANNETTE KLINGER
I grew up in the small Western Cape town of Saron. Both my parents worked during the day, so my grandmother did most of the cooking. One of my best things was coming home after a day of playing cricket or rugby and finding her waiting with a plate of home-cooked food.
Gran would be up at 5:30 am to cook because church was at 10 and, cauliflower and broccoli with béchamel … still my favourite kind of food.
