Win for North Shields’ Royal Quays

Royal Quays Marina in North Shields on the River Tyne has been named the 2019 UK Coastal Marina of the Year for marinas accommodating more than 250 berths.

The annual awards from the Yacht Harbour Association recognise the best of more than 160 Gold Anchor-accredited marinas around the world, with the winners being voted for by berth holders.

The marina manager at Royal Quays, Matt Simms, said he was ‘immensely proud’ to have received the prestigious accolade, having secured the runner-up spot in 2015
