The 25-year-old Spinlock XA triple rope clutch on the mast of our Moody Eclipse Aderyn Glas was not in great condition – a fact that was brought home to us with a bang one day when the centre handle broke off.
It didn’t take much closer inspection to find the cracks around the pivot pin on one fairing that really signalled the end of the unit.
