Chicago-area man linked to teen's 1976 death now a suspect in 12 other murders, 9 rapes, police say

AURORA, Ill. - A man linked by DNA this week to the 1976 murder of a Woodridge teenager is a suspect in the murders of at least 12 people, an investigator on the case said Thursday.

Lisle police detective Chris Loudon said he has received more than 70 tips since authorities announced on Monday they've identified Bruce Lindahl as the man responsible for the 1976 rape and strangulation of 16-year-old Pamela Maurer.
