Let’s consider organisations at small scale first. In 1965, Triumph were notionally ready for a 1967 introduction of their three-cylinder 750-cc ‘Trident’, the motorcycle that was to make the next leap in satisfying America’s appetite for ever-more-powerful bikes. The prototype looked the part with its Bonneville-derived styling. Fast, faster, fastest.
