    Historic Londonderry station reopens as centrepiece of new hub

    THE 1980-built Londonderry station closed to rail traffic on Tuesday, October 8, after the departure of the 21.38 service to Belfast Lanyon Place, which was worked by three-car DMU No. 3002.

    The terminus opened in February 1980 to replace the original 1875-built Grade B listed Waterside station. The 1875 station has now been converted into the centrepiece of the new North West Transport Hub, which became operational from
