U.N. Warns Of Budget Crisis If Nations Don't Pay $1.3 Billion In Dues They Owe
"This month, we will reach the deepest deficit of the decade," the Secretary-General warned. If countries don't pay soon, the U.N. will struggle to pay staff and hold meetings, and will limit travel.

The United Nations Secretary-General warned this week that the organization is facing a "cash crisis" if member states do not pay the annual dues they owe: $1.3 billion in payments are outstanding.
"This month, the General Assembly on Tuesday. "We risk exhausting the closed peacekeeping cash reserves, and entering November without enough cash to cover payrolls."
