MATERIALS

• Fat eighth pink and teal feature print fabric (outer pouch)

• Fat eighth solid teal fabric (outer pouch and wrist strap)

• Fat quarter pink print fabric (pouch lining, zippered pockets, strap connector and grip tab)

• 35cm ( 3/8yd) light/medium-weight fusible interfacing (such as Pellon Shapeflex SF101 or Legacy Shapeflex L-SF101)

• 20 x 60cm (8 x 24in) fusible fleece (such as Pellon Thermolam 971F or Vilene H640)

• One swivel hook, 4cm (1 1/2in) long

• One D ring, 25mm (1in) wide

• One pink dress zipper, 30cm (12in) long (pouch closure)

• Decorative label (optional)

• One pink and one teal dress zipper, 15cm (6in) long (zippered pockets)

• Threads to match the bag fabrics

• Fabric glue

• Sewing machine

• Rotary cutter, ruler and mat

• General sewing supplies

Finished size: 13cm high x 19cm wide x 4cm deep (5in x 7 1/2in x 1 1/2in)

Note: Read all the instructions before starting the project. Requirements are based on fabric and fusible interfacing 107cm (42in) wide. Use 1/2in seams throughout, unless otherwise stated. Instructions are given for using the printed Pattern Sheet in the magazine, but you can also download the digital patterns from www.homespun.net.auand print them out.

PREPARATION AND CUTTING

1 Trace the shapes for each part of the bag from the Pattern Sheet on to paper. Label each one and then cut them out on the traced lines. To use these patterns, pin them to the fabric and cut the shape next to the edge of the pattern. To cut a shape in reverse, turn the pattern over so that it is face down on the fabric before cutting.

2 From the pink and teal feature print fabric, cut:

• One outer front panel. Fold the remainder of the feature print fabric in half, and from it, cut:

• One outer back panel, matching the broken line on the pattern with the fold in the fabric.
