    Out of traffic since 2001, 92040 was collected from Loughborough on August 16th, being taken south by road to Eurotunnel’s maintenance depot at Cheriton.

    Ensconced at Brush Traction’s Falcon Works since December 2008, and having not worked a train since the end of 2006 when it suffered a power unit failure, 57001 was finally released from Loughborough on August 5th. Haulage to Basford Hall was provided by 66504, itself fresh off an engine change top 66516 on the 4O29 Trafford Park to Southampton as far as Basford Hall. The loco is now stabled at Crewe awaiting developments.
