Perhaps the biggest - and most peaceful - pro-democracy protest in Hong Kong this summer occurred Sunday. By one estimate, 1.7 million people (one in every four residents) endured heavy rains while Beijing watched and warned. Earlier in the week, protesters shut down the city's airport.
