Weekend project: Simple strip steel coil

STRIP steel coil mouldings supplied with many ready to run models in both ‘N’ and ‘OO’ gauge are not always as convincing as we would like, assuming they are supplied at all. The simple method demonstrated in this article can be used to make coil loads for Bachmann and Graham Farish BAA wagons, the forthcoming Cavalex Models BBA or any wagon fitted with cradles for strip steel, including the small fleet of specialised traditional BR vacuum braked wagons.

If steel wagons are your thing, converting Bachmann and Graham Farish BDAs to model the former air braked trestles (BOA) used to transport smaller coils is an interesting project to consider.
