ANAHEIM, Calif. - The 1994 strike marked a turning point of sorts for an Angels team that had been perpetually frustrated for more than a decade.
The Angels, and the rest of the American League West, had little at stake when the strike began. The Angels were well under .500 and somehow still only 5 1/2 games out of a playoff spot. General manager Bill Bavasi even entertained trading for a closer.
