The British motorcycle industry and its critics

Books and urgent economic reports have been written about the British motorcycle industry, which between the world wars was without question the dominant force in motorcycling. The three forces usually cited in the demise of that great and varied industry are these:

1) Tradition-bound management and unimaginative product planning

2) The unfairness of the Japanese and Italians in offering reliable turn-key lightweight two-wheelers that anyone could operate
