THE mammoth eight-year task of overhauling the electrics and undertaking a full rewire on No. D1041 Western Prince was completed at Bury at the end of June. Attention is now being turned to the loco’s two engines. The ‘Western’ last ran in 2004, when it was stopped with reverser problems.
