Lords’ debate sparks fresh hope for young volunteers

THE HOUSE of Lords is backing moves which would change century-old legislation and allow youngsters to volunteer on heritage railways.

Last year it was revealed the 1920 Employment of Women, Young Persons and Children Act prevented under-16s from working on preserved lines.
