EXHAUST SYSTEM

Mega rare now: unless you want to pay for hand-made chambers ensure entire system is there and fully compatible. Yamaha AS1 parts might look like they fit, but they don’t!

CHASSIS

Check rear section around and beyond top shock mounts for rot. Likewise, ensure swingarm is not holed and/or rotten underneath.

SEAT BASE/TRIM

Check base for rot. Seat foam often degrades with age to a crumbly mess. Numerous aftermarket covers are readily available.

REGULATOR/STARTER RELAY

Poor starting and or charging generally down to contacts inside the gold-coloured box under right-hand side
