Americarna TARANAKI 2019

HOT sunny weather scorched Taranaki since Christmas, but a tropical storm was heading over from Aussie (where else?) and predicted to hit on the Friday. It didn’t seem to dampen the enthusiasm of the 930 carloads which rolled back into New Plymouth again this year. Apparently, 229 Americarna “first timers” showed up over the four official days with some early birds seen cruising town even earlier in the week. The format of Americarna has been fine-tuned in recent years in regards to the easiest way to move 900+ cars through cities and towns, and it seems they’ve settled on a schedule which works well.
