At this year’s Geneva show Aston showed the Valkyrie-lite AM-RB 003, which packages a lot of Valkyrie tech and design into a less expensive car powered by a twin-turbo V-6. Next to it was a clay model of the next-gen Vanquish, internally known at Aston as 005. Now there are rumors of another mid-engine Aston code-named—you guessed it—007. This car is believed to be a version of the new Vanquish, powered by a version of AMG’s versatile 4.0-liter V-8. What about 004 and 006? Well, if Aston follows current practice, those numbers are reserved for AMR versions of the AM-RB 003 and the V-6 Vanquish. Underneath was Hyundai-Kia’s all-new BEV architecture, which follows the now-familiar skateboard format, with room for motors at the front and rear axles and a battery pack between them. The architecture is flexible and scalable, enabling Hyundai-Kia to build EVs of varying sizes with larger or smaller battery packs in large volumes.
