Nameplate sales hold up

INTEREST in classic traction nameplates, worksplates and flamecuts showed no sign of abating during the first quarter of 2019.
At £525 per letter, a nameplate from Class 86 No. 86226 realised £2,100 at Great Central Railwayana’s March 2 event at Stoneleigh. At the same sale, a black reflective plate from HST power car No. 43150 made £520 and a cast aluminium nameplate from Class 220 No. 220007 made £440. DVT No. 82115 nameplate , named in 1996 and removed when transferred to Network Rail, made £660.
