Haven in the hills

Evelyn Neis says she followed the real estate agent’s advice of buying the worst house in the best street when she moved from Adelaide to Heathfield near Stirling in the Adelaide Hills.

“It truly was the most ugly 1970s house,” Evelyn recalls. “But it was on two acres (0.8 hectares) and had two big storage sheds, which I use as studios for doing up furniture.
