Arrested in scandal, USC's Heinel was a pivot point for admissions

LOS ANGELES_The summer of 2011 was a fascinating time to be working in the USC athletic department. The university had a new president, C.L. Max Nikias, who was in the process of kicking off an unprecedented $6 billion fundraising campaign.
